Eric Franklin


Eric Franklin, born 1957, is a dancer, choreographer, educator, university lecturer and successful author. He earned his BS form the University of Zurich and later did his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.


Eric has studied and trained with some of the top movement imagery and conditioning specialists around the world and has used this training as a professional dancer in New York. He has shared his imaging techniques in his teaching since 1986. While a faculty member of the American Dance Festival from 1997 to 1997 he began developing dance-specific conditioning exercises for students.


Eric taught again at the ADF in 2003 and regularly teaches conditioning for dance at schools and universities throughout the world including New York University School of the Arts, the Royal Ballet School and the Laban Center in London. In 1998 he introduced the first dance conditioning methodology to mainland China.


Eric Franklin is author of Dynamic Alignment (1996), Dance Imagery for Technique and Performance (1996), Relaxe your Neck - Liberate your shoulders (2002) and Pelvic Power (2003). Additional books are published in German.


As founder of the Franklin-Method Institute in Uster/Switzerland Eric Franklin regularly offers workshops and Teacher Training Courses - open to anyone -on the topics covered in his books.
